90º TDJ: «Justificación moral e inviabilidad constitucional del derecho ciudadano a la información»

On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, Rubén Marciel Pariente (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) will participate in the 90th session of the TDJ workshop to present the paper: "Justificación moral e inviabilidad constitucional del derecho ciudadano a la información".

I have a degree in Philosophy from the University of Valladolid. I completed a Master's in Teacher Training for Secondary Education (specializing in Philosophy) at the UNED and a Master's in Political Philosophy at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where I later conducted my doctoral research (on the citizenship's right to be well informed) as an FPU fellow in the Law & Philosophy group. During my doctorate (2019), I was a visiting researcher at the Normative Orders center of Goethe University Frankfurt. Subsequently (2022-2024), I have been an associate professor and substitute professor in the philosophy department at the University of Barcelona. I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher, again, in the Law & Philosophy group at UPF, where I am undertaking a project on republican theory, deliberation, and media. As part of this project, during the spring of 2024 (March-April), I will conduct a research stay at the Hoover Chair of Economic and Social Ethics (Catholic University of Leuven). My research focuses on the intersection between political philosophy, democratic theory, and freedom of expression, and is mainly motivated (though not only) by the aspiration to find effective solutions against misinformation. I have published in Teorema, Dilemata, Isegoría, Journal of Political Philosophy, and Journal of Applied Philosophy. About the TDJ

The TDJ is a space for discussion about issues of legal and political philosophy where young researchers participate to share their doctoral and postdoctoral research and get accustomed to the interaction of academic activity.

The invitation to present papers is not limited to members of the Carlos III University of Madrid community but is extended to any researcher, regardless of their origin. Anyone interested in participating and receiving information about TDJ can join the distribution list by sending an email to derechoyjusticia@uc3m.es.

Before the session, a paper will be distributed among the attendees for discussion.

The workshop is organized by David García and Digno Montalván.
