The project focuses on the analysis of one of the most important, widespread, and influential conceptions of contemporary law: legal formalism. This current of conceptualizing the legal can be understood as the standard theoretical parameter of law in the 19th and 20th centuries; as politically linked to the Enlightenment and liberal project inheriting the revolutionary ideals of 1789; as an epistemological expression of the translation of positivist science categories into the world of law; and finally, as a manifestation of the moral model of the judge obedient to the law.
