The Ibero-American Association of Practical Philosophy (AIFP in its Spanish acronym), formed with the purpose of analyzing, from a philosophical perspective, the main ethical, political and legal problems of current Ibero-American affairs, has been organizing since 2009 the International Colloquia of Political Philosophy, as well as various Ibero-American congresses of Practical Philosophy. To date, XI Colloquia have been held in various Ibero-American universities. The common objective of all of them has been to address the political problems in Ibero-America.

The XII International Colloquium on Political Philosophy of the Ibero-American Association of Practical Philosophy, to be held on December 1 and 2, 2020, will be organized by the Research Group on Law and Justice of the Department of International Law, Ecclesiastical Law and Philosophy of Law of the University Carlos III of Madrid, under the title: "Social Justice in Ibero-America: poverty, contempt and corruption".

The central theme of the Colloquium will be the study of the various dimensions of social justice in the Ibero-American context. By way of identifying the main ideas of this theme, three types of structural deficiencies can be identified. First, those related to the insufficiencies in the distribution of wealth and the perpetuation of inequality. Secondly, those related to the lack of recognition of the individual and collective dimensions of identity. Thirdly, those related to the institutional deterioration resulting from its anomie and structural dysfunctionality.
