Workshop "Theories of Justice and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights"

The workshop aims to bring together a group of experts from different disciplinary perspectives to study the activity of this international human rights court. The objective is to go beyond a purely legal analysis of its activity and look at its philosophical-political and philosophical-legal assumptions. Accordingly, the purpose of this workshop is to discuss works related to the theories of justice that underlie the decisions, both advisory and contentious, formulated by the IACHR Court.

Coordinators: Isabel Wences (UC3M, Spain) and Alejandro Sahuí (UAC, Mexico).

The Inter-American Human Rights System, like its European counterpart, has become an international entity of enormous relevance on the legal and political horizon of Western societies. The Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR) occupies the central place in the first of these and, in the almost forty years of its activity, has achieved great recognition for its work.
