GIDYJ Proposal Selected for Funding of an International Symposium on Gender, Culture and Law

The Instituto de las Mujeres (Spanish Institute for Women’s Affairs) has granted funding to the proposal “International Symposium: Rediscovering the Myth of Medusa. Intersections between Gender, Culture, and Law”, submitted by researchers from the Research Group on Law and Justice at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, as part of the 2025 PAC Call, approved by the Resolution of April 10, 2025, from the Spanish Ministry of Equality.

This call aims to support academic activities related to gender equality, promoting research and institutional cooperation in feminist and gender studies. The GIDYJ proposal was positively evaluated among numerous submitted initiatives and has been selected for implementation within the established deadline, which ends on December 31, 2026.

The symposium seeks to bring together knowledge from law, philosophy, art history, literature, and related disciplines, focusing on the analysis of power relations, symbolic narratives, and structures of inequality in diverse social and cultural contexts, in light of contemporary challenges regarding equality. The event will bring together researchers from various institutions and academic fields, and it is envisioned as an opportunity to strengthen academic networks and foster the collective production of situated and feminist knowledge.
