On Friday, 28 November, Prof. Ermanno Vitale (Università della Valle d’Aosta, Italy) will take part in the LXXXI session of the Jesús González Amuchastegui Permanent Seminar (SPA) on the occasion of the presentation and discussion of his book: Checkmate to the “Age of Rights”? The Return of “Oriental Despotism”. He will be joined by Jesús Ignacio Delgado, Professor of Legal Theory and Philosophy of Law at the University of Seville.
Ermanno Vitale is a Full Professor of Political Philosophy. He holds a PhD in the History of Political Thought and Political Institutions from the University of Turin. His most recent books published in Spanish include Defenderse del poder (Trotta, 2012) and El espejismo de los bienes comunes (Dykinson, 2024). He is a member of the scientific board of the journals Teoria Politica and Ragion Pratica. His current research focuses on the relationships between peace, democracy, and fundamental rights in the context of global processes of social and political transformation.
